Founded in 2023, the Jefferson Parole Project will offer a one year reentry mentoring program for men and women who have served long prison sentences. We work closely with the area chambers of commerce, businesses and local probation and parole officers to connect candidates with career opportunities and gainful employment.
During the one year mentoring program, The Jefferson Parole Project will work closely with its partners to assist qualified candidates in obtaining stable employment and long-term housing. Upon completion of the program, graduates will have employment, pay taxes, and contribute to their communities.
The Jefferson Parole Projects Mission is to operate multiple transitional homes in the Jefferson Parish area for men and women who are rebuilding their lives after incarceration. Candidates will take part in an intensive re-entry program where they will learn social and vocational skills to enable them to meet the expectations of today's society and working environments. In addition to reentry support, the program will offer pro-bono legal representation throughout the entire reentry process.
The Jefferson Parole Project will screen all potential candidate prior to acceptance and will work with volunteers, student interns, and community leaders to help qualified candidates reach their full potential. We believe that second chances build stronger communities.
